Suwaiba Sa’idu Ahmad is a distinguished Nigerian academic and public servant, renowned for her contributions to science education and gender studies. Her career at Bayero University Kano (BUK) began in 2004, where she advanced from lecturer to Associate Professor of Chemistry Education. During her tenure at BUK, she held several key administrative positions, including Sub-Dean Academics in the Faculty of Education and Head of the Science Education Department from 2018 to 2020. In 2020, she was appointed Director of the Centre for Gender Studies, reflecting her commitment to promoting gender inclusivity in academia.

In 2024, Ahmad was appointed Provost of Jigawa State College of Education, Ringim, where she focused on enhancing teacher education and curriculum development. Her dedication to educational advancement led to her appointment as Nigeria’s Minister of State for Education on October 23, 2024, by President Bola Tinubu. Recognizing her academic excellence, Bayero University Kano promoted her to full Professor of Science Education on December 27, 2024.
