Olubunmi Kuku
Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku is a distinguished leader in Nigeria’s aviation sector, currently serving as the first female Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Her appointment marks a significant milestone in the country’s aviation industry, showcasing her extensive expertise and leadership acumen. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois (2000) and a Master of Business Administration in International Finance and Strategic Management from DePaul University (2004).
Over the years, Kuku has built an impressive career, holding key positions in global and national institutions, including Vice President and Head of Visa Consulting Analytics for Sub-Saharan Africa, where she led digital innovation strategies. She also served as Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Strategy and Infrastructure Development, where she played a crucial role in the Aviation Sector Roadmap and the National Carrier Project.
Her experience spans financial services and advisory roles at leading institutions such as the Bank of Montreal, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, and Bank PHB Plc. Since assuming leadership at FAAN, Kuku has focused on improving Nigeria’s airport infrastructure, enhancing revenue generation, and implementing strategic reforms to align the sector with global standards.
Her leadership has earned her international recognition, including a nomination as a Regional Advisor for Africa on the Airport Council International World Governing Board. With her deep expertise in finance, infrastructure development, and aviation management, Olubunmi Kuku continues to shape the future of Nigeria’s aviation sector, inspiring the next generation of leaders in the industry.
