Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe
Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe is a seasoned Nigerian journalist and strategic communications expert with over 15 years of experience in the broadcast media industry. She began her career during her National Youth Service at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Awka, Anambra State, where she served as a newscaster and reporter. She later joined Channels Television, where she distinguished herself as a senior reporter and anchor, notably serving as the Senate correspondent and producing ‘The Gavel,’ a program dedicated to the activities of the National Assembly.
Akhigbe holds a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication from the Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Edo State, and a Master of Arts in Media, Communications, and Public Relations from the University of Leicester. She also completed a Thomson Reuters Foundation Certificate Course in Advanced Business and Financial Reporting in London in 2009.
In October 2023, President Bola Tinubu appointed Akhigbe as the Senior Special Assistant on Strategic Communications. In this role, she is responsible for crafting and disseminating strategic messages that align with the administration’s policies and objectives. Additionally, she was seconded to serve as the Communications Adviser to the President of the ECOWAS Commission, reflecting her expertise in regional communications.
Through her strategic communication efforts, Akhigbe plays a pivotal role in shaping public perception and fostering an environment conducive to economic growth.
