Hadiza Bala Usman
Hadiza Bala Usman, born on January 2, 1976, is a prominent Nigerian figure known for her impactful roles in both politics and civil society.
Before her leadership at the NPA, Usman served as the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, from 2015 to 2016. This appointment showcased her administrative prowess and her ability to effectively manage government affairs.
Usman’s commitment to social justice and advocacy is evident in her co-founding of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign in 2014, following the tragic abduction of schoolgirls in Chibok by the terrorist group Boko Haram. Her involvement in this campaign demonstrated her dedication to human rights and her willingness to champion causes aimed at addressing security challenges in Nigeria.
Throughout her career, Usman has been actively engaged in various capacities, including her work as a research assistant at the Centre for Democratic Development and Research Training in Zaria in 1999 and her roles at the Bureau of Public Enterprises and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Her diverse experiences have equipped her with a deep understanding of policy implementation and project management.
