Blessing Onuh
Blessing Onyeche Onuh, born on June 30, 1976, in Otukpo, Benue State, Nigeria, is a distinguished politician currently representing the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. She is the daughter of former Senate President David Mark.
Onuh began her public service career in 2005 as a Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Education. She later served as Special Assistant to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, focusing on the Prerogative of Mercy Desk. From May 10, 2010, to May 29, 2015, she held the position of Secretary at the Social Development Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), where she played a pivotal role in social development initiatives within the capital territory.
In 2019, Onuh transitioned into legislative politics, successfully contesting the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Her tenure has been marked by active participation in legislative duties and a commitment to addressing the needs of her constituents. In 2022, she joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), aligning with the party’s progressive ideals to further her legislative agenda.
By advocating for economic policies that empower communities and supporting initiatives that promote gender inclusion, she continues to pave the way for more women to take up leadership roles in Nigeria’s governance and economic sectors.
